The dicey Math of counting populations
This page is built upon Gallaudet’s d/Deaf Hard of Hearing community report. The Gallaudet team acknowledged that they do not maintain population reports as part of their statistical analysis. Given they have not updated the data in some time and dozens of statistical analysis reports are produced by state agencies annually, there appears to be a continued interest in understanding where to connect with the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
So you took a cursory glance at deaf populations in the united states and found what we all have:

A further look into the matter and you realize that national reporting puts the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community at about 4% to 6% of our national population. Yet, various state reports from different agencies report different numbers going as high as 12%. That’s off by 50%. Counting people is hard stuff!. WHEW!!!
With that said I will use the same underlying sources as done by the Gallaudet team except of course this website will implement the newest release containing the newest number sets. The Gallaudet report was as follows:

One of the valued reports valued by the Gallaudet team was the compendium. I am providing the report as part of the authenticity of the results of this site.

With respect to this site. I have integrated the power of automation. This means I have taken live feeds from various online sources that publish live population reports. Meaning that it continues on the process started in the pdf file. This does two things. First, every day the numbers will self-update and in general this page perpetually updates itself. Second, I don’t have to update it. With that being said I hope you enjoy this live d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community tool.
